By combining plastic with a rigid-foam core, HEKA plastic incubators bring together nearly every advantage of other cabinet types. HEKA uses sturdy 24 mm (0.94 in) sandwich panels made from top-quality plastic. The smooth, bright-white surface can be cleaned to a truly hygienic, clinical standard, and it won't scratch, dull or discolor. All with excellent energy efficiency: the sandwich panel has an insulation value (U-value) of 1.22 W/m²K, compared with 2.1 W/m²K for basic solid-plastic panels, so it insulates almost twice as well. That meets the standards of laboratories and research facilities, and it's the right material for breeders who care about hygiene, energy savings and long life.

Every HEKA incubator is designed around a forced-air circulation system, so all the air inside is exchanged evenly. A double-walled cabinet and powerful circulation fans, matched to each model, push air down from the top and draw it back up through the side channels. The result is exceptionally even temperature at every level and on every side of the incubator. With a HEKA, you don't need to move eggs around to make up for warm or cool spots.
HEKA quality, made in Germany
HEKA incubators are made in Germany, with plastics fabrication and electrical installation built to the highest German standards. Where other incubators have a tangle of colored wires, everything in a HEKA is neat and organized. The sensitive control electronics are housed in their own separate enclosure, apart from the rest of the technical compartment. Sealed cable glands keep humidity from the incubation chamber away from the control electronics, for a long controller life.
